These recommendations help the Bing web crawler effectively index and rank your site. Bing also lists techniques to avoid if you want to make sure your site is indexed.

Rules

• Pages need a title element
• Pages must not have a blank title
• Keyword stuffed alt text
• Provide an HTML site map
• Provide an XML sitemap
• Google cannot follow javascript: URLs
• No meta description tag
• Meta description too long for Bing
• Meta description same as the page title
• Page has no h1 element
• Page has more than one h1 element
• Hidden single pixel links may be penalized
• Invisible text may be penalized
• Bad neighborhood keyword found
• Page title is not unique
• Text in graphics cannot be indexed
• Soft 404 for missing pages
