This set of guidelines detect broken links.

Rules

• Image is corrupt
• Image has wrong MIME type
• SSL certificate has expired or is invalid
• Link target not found in DNS
• Target web server is unreachable
• Link to file:// address
• Unrecognized URL scheme
• Link URL is empty string
• Link target ID not found
• Missing image map
• HTML 7.5.2 Link target ID case mismatch
• HTTP Link returns HTTP error
• HTTP 401 Link requires username and password
• HTTP 403 Link returns 403 HTTP status code
• HTTP 404 Link not found
• HTTP 407 Link returns HTTP 407 status code
• HTTP 504 Link times out
